Be 18 years of age or older.

Be
a United States citizen or resident alien.

Possess
a valid amateur radio license issued by the Federal Communications Commission or
other competent U.S. authority.

Possess
a station capable of operating on MARS HF frequencies.

You
may join either Army, Navy-Marine Corps, or Air Force MARS but you may not join
or belong to more than one MARS service at the same time.

New
members serve a six month probationary period.

New
member training completed during the probationary period includes on-the-air as
well as individual study.

A
minimum of 18 hours per quarter participation in Minnesota Area MARS activity.
